ARTISANS

Artisans in glass, woodworking, upholstery, mural painting and handmade tile will be at the end of Row 3 near the dining area at the Fair. And, their contact information is in the Annual Home Improvement Directory and on this website under their business names.

"BE ON TV"

Find out what's involved in appearing on one of the home improvement reality shows. Magnetic Productions, a company that produces programming for the DIY network, will be at the Fair to talk with homeowners about their kitchen or bath projects. If you've ever said "I Hate My Kitchen" or "I Hate My Bath," this opportunity might be for you.

Experts from the City of Minneapolis Divisions of Inspections, Department of Regulatory Services and Solid Waste and Recycling are available to answer your housing questions. Ever wonder about permits or requirement for hiring contractors? Ask a question...get an expert answer! Experts from the Minnesota Department of Commerce Division of Energy Resources, and the Master Gardeners, will also be at the Ask an Expert table.

SEMINARS/WORKSHOPS

There will be two sessions of seminars/workshops with several choices in each. The morning session starts at 11:30 and the afternoon session at 1:15. See the WORKSHOPS page for details.

HOUSE OF PRESSURE

The House of Pressure visually demonstrates the air pressure dynamics within a home. See why the key to ice dam control is sealing attic air leaks so the insulation can work better. And how exhaust fans can make some gas heating systems unsafe. And what makes some rooms less comfortable than others. 

WOODCRAFT FOR KIDS

This activity, held each year, is a big hit with families. Kids learn the art of handcrafting a durable and attractive wooden birdfeeder that they can take home and use.
